Marshall Fire

Almost two years ago on December 30th 2021, a destructive wildfire swept through the town of Louisville, Superior and parts of unincorporated Boulder County. Many of our friends lost pets and their homes. Two people lost their lives.

Below are some photos I took documenting the recovery process for the City of Louisville. Other photos are included from a short documentary.

A little context.. I’ve lived in Louisville with my family for over 10 years and love it! I reached out to the City and asked if they would be interested in a travel show, instead they hired me to document the recovery and rebuilding of our town. Here’s more from this experience. It’s been really amazing meeting so many great people who work for the City of Louisville.

Unrelated to the City of Louisville work, I’ve been working on a short documentary filming a friend who lost some of her pets and her home. We’ll release more info about it someday soon.

A gigantic thank you to every first responder and person who has helped! With hurricane force winds, the fire grew out of control super quickly. In a few short hours the fire travelled 6 miles. It could have been a lot worse and I’m so thankful for how quickly and thoughtfully people reacted helping each other evacuate.

Articles for the Boulder Weekly, photos & recovery.

Elements Training

Here are photos and a video I made for Elements Training, simple training methods for athletes of all abilities. Also the founder of Elements Training, Jonathan Garcia, is truly amazing at what he does and is a good friend - we strongly recommend him! As a coach, Jonathan helps each client gain equilibrium among these multiple elements to achieve the ideal level of preparation for their health and athletic goals. He also happened to be a professional cyclist racing all over the world, no big deal.

Make an appointment and start training!

City of Louisville videos

I’m thankful to have had the opportunity to create several videos for the City of Louisville, Colorado! It has been meaningful getting to meet some of the employees, residents, and everyone who has been working hard to rebuild. I’ve lived here for over 10 years and love this place! Photos & videos below.

Over the course of 2022 I documented some of the rebuilding and recovery efforts of Louisville after a destructive fire. The Marshall Fire destroyed 1,000 homes and structures, taking the lives of over 1,000 pets and 2 people.

Ribbon cutting / Louisville, Colorado

Below are some photos I took last week of the ribbon cutting celebration at the first home ready for move in after the Marshall fire. Super happy for Jessica and her kids!

On December 30th, 2021 fueled by hurricane force winds a fire burned more than 1,000 homes & structures as it burned through parts of Louisville, Superior and unincorporated Boulder County

It’s been a tough year and it’s important to acknowledge everyone is at a different place in their journey. Every story is so different.

I’ve lived in Louisville, Colorado for over 10 years. It’s home and I love my friends and the life we’ve built here so much!

How did this video & photo work all start? A few months ago I reached out to the city to find out if they would be interested in a local travel show. I’ve created travel shows in the past and really enjoyed it. Instead they asked if I could make other videos for Louisville, so that brings us to today.

It’s been an honor to document some of the rebuilding efforts for the City of Louisville. I’ve met a ton of amazing people from Louisville and all over the county who truly care and are working hard during the recovery. Thank you video below!

I’m thankful for this work and hopeful for a new year full of happiness and new beginnings for our friends.
